I ove godine ovo prestizno takmicenje ce se odrzati u Botswani,i to kvalifikacije u Gaborone-u 6-9 Maja 2017,a finale u Kasanu 13-14.-og maja 2017.
Da li ce ovo biti peta titula za Briana ili za Big Z ili prva titula Thora ili Eddieja ostaje nam da vidimo.

Malo su izmenjani datumi,ali organizatori kazu da je ovo konacno.
Znaci ovako-polufinale gde ce se 30 takmicara boriti za 10 mesta koje vode u finale ce se odrzati od 20-23.-eg maja a veliko finale 27-28.-og maja u Gaborone-u glavnom gradu Botswane.

Thorova reakcija na pobedu Eddija na WSM takmicenju....
First off congratulations to Eddie Hall, not sure anyone has risked as much with their health and sacrificed what he had to achieve his WSM dream
Right now I am filthy with a sport that reeks of politics and where there's smoke there's usually fire.
Here's some interesting points I've heard over the last year and had to wait to see what played out before sharing publicly.
Ed was alledgedly given the finals events 6mths out- others given it 2-4 weeks
Ed was given an "easy" group while others like Terry originally had Z, Pritchett, Zageris and Best.
How much can organisers influence an outcome you ask? Well let's look at the events changed and ask yourself who benefits the most from it and who loses the most....
Stone event changed to remove the run in before loading while loading height also lowered from previous years.
Viking Preas rules were changed to allow drops and then continue your attempt.
Then look at the events in the final and who benefits the most with squats for reps, max deadlift, viking press, tyre flip (oh yeah they removed the drag at the last minute), plane pull (where there is ALOT of talk of brakes being applied to certain athlete's attempts) and then the stones to a shorter platform.
Let's not forget either that Eddie has an exclusive agreement with Giant's Live and one of his business partners just happens to be the head ref at WSM.
Thor was called for double dipping on his final rep in viking press- video is on his page so I emcourage you to watch it and decide for yourself.
Ed winning WSM has massive benefits for the sport- watch the amount of extraordinary mainstream media coverage this picks up and how big the crowds are for the U.K shows.
The question is at what cost to the sport?

The 2017 WSM contest is over and I want to thank my wife and son for being my everything...I love you both. I also want to thank my family, friends, therapists, sponsors and fans for all of their support leading up to and through this contest. I want to also especially thank my long time training partner and friend Andy Shaddeau for making the trip to Botswana to be my right hand man.
I can't comment much on the contest or results but so my fans know (because I'm sure it won't be mentioned in the TV show) I tore my hamstring badly on my last deadlift and strapped it up and gave everything I could on the stones because that is what champions do. I have never dropped out of a strongman contest and I wasn't about to start now.
With everything being said on social media let's try our best to keep it positive. I promise you I will continue to try to do everything I can to make strongman better for everyone that comes after me. I love this sport and that will never change.
