Evo šta on kaže o svemu tome:
Greetings Family and Friends!!!
I’m sure many of you have had a chance to see the recent post concerning my living donor kidney transplant.
I want to you all to know how this all transpired.
Many of you know of my work with young men through a mentoring program call “Raising a Modern Day Knight”. It was around 26 years ago while hanging out with the boys on my farm that one of the goats go out of the fence. As the boys help me
Corner the goat, I bulldogged him to bring him down. As a real cowboy should. Lol
However, later that evening, I noticed blood in my urine. Man was that scary to say the least. I then reached out to my dr for a visit. After doing an ultrasound, he discovered I was born with a genetic mutation called Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).
He explained to me that it had been passed down through my family tree.
At the time I was 40 years old. After visiting with a referred Nephrologist, I was told it was a slowly progressive disease. PKD looks like a
Kidney filled with sacks of bubbly fluids. Not a pretty site. Over time the sacks smoothers out the function
of the kidneys. Being who I am
in the fitness world, I wanted to find ways to slow the decline of my kidney function. My first thought was nutrition. What should I eat and what should I avoid. I knew that since the kidney act as a filter getting rid of waste, I sort out ways to keep it waste free as possible. As I began my research, I learn that much of what I had already been doing was aligned with keeping the kidney healthy and slowing waste build up. I already avoided red meat which takes 72 hours to pass through the body and pork which is filled with parasites and waste. And the fact that I always stayed away from processed meats, energy drinks, and dead food snacks, gave me a fighting chance to slow the decline of my kidney function. And that it did.
As a results of following the nutrition and fitness protocols I had learn and used over the years, I was able to avoid dialysis all together. I want to make it clear that this is not the case for most people dealing with kidney disease.
In many situations dialysis will be life saving and yes, follow the advise of your dr. In my case, the seeds of faith in what the word of the Lord gave me concerning healing (Psalm 103) and my knowledge of nutrition made the difference for Lee Haney. Following a 85% plant-base meal plan and keeping my system detoxed gave me 26 years of health before receiving a kidney transplant. What you do today with your health will impact your health in the future. Your health is your wealth!!! Because of the seeds of health planted throughout my journey,
I am in a great place.
