"1st Event Max Axle - This contest was the 4th true "axle clean and press" for me in 18 months. Opened at 350 and smashed it, 2nd attempt hit 380 with ease but had me dancing around. Told Willie and John that was good for me...then Lane starts screaming at me like a crazy person, I giggled, Kyle yells at me, then Mitch yells at me. OK screw it, lets go 400...it ended up being the easiest of all of them. Y'all are some angry mofos when you want something...damn. 1st place here and new national record.

2nd Event 600 dead (13 in) for reps - I knew going in that full tilt I could be around 12, wasnt planning on going full tilt though. Jared Martin had the number to beat at 15, Dean had 13...I was told by the scorekeeper (AMANDA ALBRECHT ) that 3rd was 7 (when it actually was 10). Thinking I could take 3rd place points, I stopped at 7...I could have stopped at 10 AMANDA..haha. Oh well, tied for 4th.

3rd Event keg(250)yoke(700)sandbag(300) - This is where you see my hesitance to just go after it, all the HW seemed to struggle here. The keg was all smashed in at the bottom so there was really nothing to hold onto, at the end of the course I felt like I was holding it with just my top hand. Strolled (literally) to the yoke and it felt great and fast, picked the sandbag and strolled (again, literally) to the finish. 1st place by 9 seconds.

4th Event 325 Farmers - Adam Lane did the LW run in 9.9...so I wanted a sub 10 run. This was the 3rd time in 18 months handling this weight on the farmers, pick felt great and felt like I was flying til I tripped over my feet and dropped with 10 feet to go. Finished in 14 sec, without the damn drop I would have been sub 10! Winner was high 12 sec range, 4th here

5th event Stones 260-300-330-360-405 - Again first full stone run in 18 months, finally loaded the 405 2 weeks before the contest. Jared Martin hit all 5 right before I went to close the show. I had said if I could take the overall without doing all 5 I would stop at 3...then Jared hits all 5 and you know what that means, I have to hit all 5. I still could have stopped at 3 and won the overall but now we are talking about a little thing called pride. Again, you can see my non willingness to just attack the stones. I could hear either Adam Lane or Tom Rumohr screaming "what are you doing...GO" before the last 2 stones, again these guys are verbally abusive and should see someone about that. Jared had the time at 37 and I finished with 34 for the win. 1st here

1st SHW and 1st overall"
